Stream on ESPN+: LaLiga, Bundesliga, more (U.S.) And while order could still restore itself in the coming weeks - Bayern runs away with the Bundesliga, Liverpool charges back into the Premier League top four while Manchester City wins the league, a more well-established (read: richer) power wins the Champions League - there's no denying that, on average, Europe's best and richest teams aren't dominating quite as much as they usually do this season. We knew this could be a pretty odd season, what with the whole "worse-than-normal fixture congestion in the fall, followed by a long World Cup break" thing. Real Sociedad and/or Real Betis making it for the first time since 20, respectively Brighton and Union Berlin making the Champions League for the first time An end to Bayern Munich's 10-year Bundesliga title reign Liverpool's worst league season since 2012 Neither of these clubs is a Leicester City, but considering what we've grown accustomed to in this sport, with entrenched power and rich-get-richer tendencies, those two results would represent quite the tectonic shift.Ĭonsider some of the other things that remain on the table (with far greater than 0% odds) as we enter the season's home stretch: That said its also still a work in progress, season 2 is going to bring with it crafting for example, not just the huge addition of planetary landing.īottom line is though, that i think elite is more about the experience than a lot of games, and if you cant enjoy just playing it, then it may not be for you.Īlso i think for anyone who loves space, this is the perfect game. There's a very solid chance - about 50-50, depending on where you get your projections - that this European soccer season ends with both Napoli's first Serie A title since 1990 and Arsenal's first Premier League title since 2004.
#POINT TO POINT MEASURE ELITE DANGEROUS SERIES#
Personally i think this kind of question is like the metaphor about missing the forest for the trees.įocusing on the minute gameplay specifics instead of the overall experience imo is missing the point of the game.Ī game like eve is more of an mmo its all about the spreadsheets, the skill points etc, a game like the X series is kind of an economy simulator and strategy game kinda thing.Įlite is much more about the experience of space flight and space itself.Įverything from the exclusively first person perspective, the incredibly interactive cockpit UI, and the immersive sound is all about making you feel like a space pilot, whether you're off in the deep reaches of space thousands of lightyears from the nearest space station exploring, running trade routes, mining planetary rings, or hunting bounties, this game excells at making you feel immersed in that role. So the whole point of Elite is being a fighter pilot in the end? Is that it, is that all there is to this game?ĭo more research, '"You will find you are wrong, about a great many things." - Return of the Jedi In Elite you only hoard more and more and more credits to, I assume, buy a better combat ship.

In EVE you could mine stuff not only to sell but also to use in crafting, you could even make, like, various buildings and stations on planet surface. But it appears that the only purpose of mining here is to get credits which is fine, despite there not being dedicated mining ships, you just strap a mining laser on some multi-purpose or a transport ship, but that's it. What are you doing in here? You can mine. Like, in EVE you could literally do anything because there is a very large and developed skill system and you go down your career path and get more and more and more stuff to do, you can walk around, you can actually explore, hack, steal, conspire, fight for systems in clans, CRAFT ITEMS etc. I tried to think of what's the point of this game is and. (and yes, there is exploration but aren't all systems alike? And isn't it only so that you could sell that info at some place away to hoard more credits?) So the whole point of Elite is being a fighter pilot in the end? Is that it, is that all there is to this game?
